Webmaster and SEOBing Business Portal
Google has found success in their Google Places. Hundreds of thousand local business have signed in for free business listing. Rival Bing, however, will not be left out. Microsoft's flagship search engine has recently launched their Bing Business Portal for their own local business listing.
Bing Business Portal is actually not a fresh product from the search engine. It is more like a rejuvenated project, an old feature that was restarted and improved with better features and better services. Business Portal replaces Bing's existing Local Listing Center (LLC), the same way Google renamed their Local Business Center to Google Places last April. Bing Business Portal works like most of the other web business listing in existence. It lets local businesses claim and verify their business listing, as well as modify it to cater to their customer's needs and marketing strategy. What's unique with Bing Business Portal is the fact that you can create and modify deals like discount coupons and promote it not only in your business page, but as well as on your Facebook profile page. Deals, promos and packages connected to your business account will also appear on Bing search results the moment people search for your business through the search engine. Business Portal features are also available for Bing's mobile browser. Both Bing and Google are on a race for the deals market, a specific niche currently being occupied and topped by companies like Groupon and LivingSocial. In the case of Google, it tried to acquire Groupon but failed, and so they just opened their own version instead called Google Offers. The new product from Google is currently on beta mode, but will become stable and official once proven to work. For the mean time, Bing will just put special deals within Business Portal and there is no sign that they will follow Google's move to create Google Offer, at least for now. But who knows, Bing might just do that if Offers prove itself successful. You can talk about...
