Webmaster and SEOThe Best Javascript Framework to Use
There are loads of Javascript frameworks available out there that I am pretty sure you are having a difficult time choosing which one to pick. Among these wide array of choices, three (3) frameworks particularly stand out. There's JQuery, YUI (Yahoo! User Interface library), and Dojo. Assuming that you only have your sights set on these three, which should you pick?
For sure, you will get a lot of points for picking JQuery. Among the three, it is the most popular, which is to say that JQuery is the most popular Javascript framework in existence. It is very easy to use and light, too. At 15kb, it's probably the lightest Javascript library out there. Unfortunately, JQuery is not really a framework but more like a library. It is also difficult to use if you want to become strict with object-oriented programming. A lot of JQuery plug-ins available are also not verified, leaving poor support. Nonetheless, if you are going to work with Ajax, JQuery is the perfect framework. Then we have YUI, the Javascript framework developed Yahoo! Since it is created by an enterprise, YUI is well-documented with a fully functioning API, also making it easy to work with. It is also consistent, unlike JQuery and, also unlike JQuery, it is an actual framework instead of a library. Then again, pages loaded using YUI are pretty heavy. Not good for those with slower Internet connectivity. There are also not too many helper methods that will help you with your development. Lastly, we have Dojo, which has been around for a pretty longer while. Dojo is well-integrated with Firebug, allowing you to make the necessary debugging using it. But where it makes up for relatively fast loading times, it fails in documentation. Sometimes, the error in Firebug can be very difficult to discern. So when there's something that you want to do, you have to do it via the trial-and-error method. So which one should you use? This will all depend on what you want to do, but for most purposes, I'd say JQuery. Most websites in the Web 2.0 era use Ajax, so I think it's only imperative that we use the library that allows easy Ajax development--in this case, that's JQuery. You can talk about...
