Before Facebook made a name, advertisers invests their money on Google's very effective search-integrated ads, appearing along relative searches made by Google users.

Today, there are still quite a number of people who are engaged in the practiced. As a matter of fact, their numbers grown to tremendous figures over the years. But their number would have been ten folds higher had Facebook not entered the scene.

A lot of advertisers of today are choosing Facebook over Google as their advertising ground, strongly believing that Facebook has the number that will make their brand or their product successful and popular.

Display ads, which for years Google tried to penetrate but with little luck, have long been the turf of rival Yahoo!. But in merely 6 years of existence, Facebook has successfully challenged Yahoo! in the display ads category and is now ranked no. 2 for display ads market share. And although Google is doing great with their renewed interest for display ads, it will be really hard for them to topple Yahoo! from the top spot, and Facebook at 2nd.

There's no doubt that Google is continously expanding, but is Facebook really making that growth slow? Is it time for Google to become more aggressive and treat Facebook a threat?
