Webmaster and SEOGoogle's Panda Algorithm - The Winners and the Losers
Google recently announced that they will be changing their algorithm for how websites are ranked in their search engine. And like the previous changes they have made, it would create a bunch of winners, as well as losers. In a report conducted by CNET.com, the new Panda Algorithm is said to be favorable for news websites. But the losers in this change are those called 'content farms', sites that invite people to write for them instead of hiring legit news reporters. Example of such sites are WikiHow, eHow, AssociatedContent.com, FindArticles.com, and EZineArticles.com. However, those sites that have been on the top from the very beginning seem not affected by the change. Wikipedia, Youtube and Amazon.com were still turning up on the front pages of the search results. Google's mouth is shut, as usual, on how they do their algorithm. They never reveal how their algorithm works, and so the only way people can test the algorithm is manually search for terms and see which of the sites appear on the front page and how many times they make an appearance.
