Webmaster and SEOMicrosoft Partners with Baidu on Search
Baidu, the leading search engine in mainland China, former rival to Google which made an exit in that country's online market, has recently partnered with Microsoft which will see the two cooperating with search results.
The partnership will benefit Microsoft the most. The American company will be providing the search results for Baidu's English-language search queries. With this, Microsoft is nearer in its goal of widening its global search presence. "More and more people here are searching for English terms...but Baidu hasn't done a good job. So here's a way for us to do it," a Baidu representative said during a press conference. With Google out of the Chinese market, Baidu has no real competition in China's online search. Microsoft on the other hand is expanding its search scope across the globe, even if it only means hosting search results for a more dominant search engine in that region. Google has pulled out of the Chinese market earlier in 2010 after Google called it quit with China's censorship policies. Microsoft on the other hand tackled a different approach and suggested they are better of with a presence in regions around the world than none at all, even if it means their search results will be censored.
