It was revealed by the Wall Street Journal that the company "Google" received summons issued by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for a formal investigation on allegations of monopoly on the Internet search market.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission intended a series of investigations to review and audit the performance of the company Google in the Internet, provided by search engine "Google". This investigation comes as a result of complaints made by many other competitor companies, which accuses "Google" of its monopoly that is impeding the real competition of establishments in the research sector on the Internet.

The company Google accounts for 65% of the Internet in the United States. The Federal Trade Commission is investigating whether Google used its dominance on the Internet and whether the users were directed to just the network services to the disadvantage of competitors. Perhaps what drew the attention of the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Google in this regard is that the company had achieved wealth and most of their money through search-related ads.

Microsoft suffered antitrust troubles in 1990, when they dominated the software industry of personal computers. Google is on the same path which could hurt competitors. It should be noted that the digital marketing firm eMarketer expects Google's advertising revenue in the United States to grow to 38.9% up to $10.92 billion this 2011.

Google expressed its confidence in facing and overcoming these investigations because it practices neutrality and transparency about the ads, in a manner not detrimental to competitors. According to the company’s blog entries, the company put the users first and stressed that the use of Google is just a choice between several options that can be used to obtain information.
