Google Remains At The Top of the Video Category

Research firm ComScore has released their latest study on the percentage share of video sites in the online world. And as expected, Google came at the top of the list. Google is the front line ten folds farther than second placer Yahoo!

Google has garnered 143 million unique viewers for the month of July and Yahoo! came at second with a shy 55 million viewers. The minutes viewers spend on the site also clearly shows which video platform they prefer. An average Google viewer spends about 282.7 minutes in Google sites and Yahoo! failed even to get a third of the percentage with a lame 28.6 minutes per user.

Coming in at third place is Facebook.com with 46 million unique viewers for July. Facebook saw a tremendous increase in their video viewership over the months. About 3 million new unique users are added in Facebook's video viewers and it will not be surprising to see Facebook taking over Yahoo! position at second place.

Fourth in the list is Microsoft, who also saw a great increase in their viewership. In June, their share only reached 39 million but it has gone up to 45 million in July.

Hulu came in at the 10th place with only 28 million unique viewers. But the website came in second as the most engaging with users spending an average of 158 minutes at the website.
